Sazerac

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Sazerac rye
  • ¼ oz simple syrup
  • 3 – 4 dashes Peychaud's bitters
  • 1 – 2 dashes Angostura bitters (optional)
Method: Stirred
Glass: Rocks
Ice: Large Cube
Garnish: Lemon Peel

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a mixing glass filled with ice
  2. Stir until well chilled
  3. Strain into a rocks glass over a large ice cube
  4. Garnish with a lemon peel

Notes

  • Prepare glass in advance by taking a small amount of Absinthe and coating the inside of a rocks glass. Pour out any extra absinthe left in the glass.
  • Fold the lemon peel garnish (skin side towards drink) over drink to mist drink with lemon oils, then rub the glass rim with lemon peel before dropping it into the glass as a garnish (on or off a skewer).
